Malavika Sagar

Vice President Human Resources, Transportation Solutions, TE Connectivity, USA

Malavika joined TE Connectivity in October 2012 and currently holds the position of VP Human Resources for the Transportation Solutions segment. This $8B revenue segment is comprised of Global Automotive, Industrial and Commercial Transportation, Global Application Tooling, and Sensor Solutions businesses and has 40,000 employees worldwide.  Prior to this role, Malavika had responsibility for leading HR in the Global Automotive, Industrial Commercial Transportation and Application Tooling business units.

During her tenure here at TE, Malavika has developed a reputation for strong business partnership, operating at the pace of the business to drive results, and implementing practical HR solutions to address important business challenges.  Across these diverse roles, Malavika has been instrumental in driving organizational effectiveness, leadership and talent development, inclusion and diversity, and building HR capabilities.

In her Global Talent Management role, she was responsible for TE’s succession planning process, high potential development and workforce planning. She also set up and led TE’s Engagement and Inclusion Council that included several cross-functional BU leaders and was chaired by TE’s CEO.

Malavika joined TE in 2012 from Avaya Inc, where she held a variety of roles in talent acquisition, talent management, HR Business Partner, HR operations and strategic workforce planning. She also served as the HR integration leader during Avaya’s purchase of Nortel Enterprise Solutions.

Malavika started her career in Sales & Marketing and has held account management and marketing roles at Ricoh corporation and Canon Business Solutions. She has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Marketing from Rutgers University, New Jersey.

She is an avid traveler and proud mom of a curious 6-year-old. Currently based in New York, Malavika is also involved in elevating the progress of girls born into lower income families, by partnering with global foundations and personally sponsoring education of girls born in remote parts of India.
